About the author

Eero Järnefelt (1863–1937) - one of the most prominent representatives of Finnish realist painting and an important figure in national art. His work is distinguished by its detailed depictions of nature, sensitive rendering of light, and strong connection to Finland’s landscapes and people.

Järnefelt often painted forests, lakes, scenes of rural life, and the everyday lives of ordinary people, capturing the authentic atmosphere of Finland.

The artist paid particular attention to the grandeur of nature and humanity’s relationship with the environment, which is why his works are considered an important part of Finland’s national identity and culture.
